We publish a great deal of our work in the open, including the geometry and the measured figures behind every cut in the registry. That is a deliberate choice, and it is not the same as putting it in the public domain. This notice sets out what we own, what you may do with it, and which names on our pages belong to other people.

Trade marks

In plain terms, the three classes cover jewellery, gemstones and diamonds; education and published material about diamonds and the four Cs; and software as a service for visualising, simulating and comparing diamonds and gemstones.

The application has been filed but not yet granted, so we use BRILLIANI™ and not the registered symbol. We will update this page when the mark proceeds to registration.

Alongside the filed mark we rely on unregistered rights, built through use, in Brilliani Labs, in our taglines, in the names of our own cut designs in the BL series, and in the overall look and feel of these sites.

Unless stated otherwise, everything published on brillianilabs.com and brilliani.com is © 2026 Compliance Condo B.V. That includes:

• all written content, including the diamond guide, the registry write-ups and these notices;
• photography, product imagery and every rendered image;
• the real-time rendering engine and its shaders, and the code of the simulator, the comparison tool and the demo;
• the facet geometry of our own cut designs;
• the measured figures published in the Cut Registry, and the registry as a compiled data set.

The registry figures are not collected from elsewhere. Each one is produced by tracing rays through the published facet geometry under our own protocol, which makes the resulting data set our own work and protected as such, both by copyright and as a database.

Our cut designs

The cuts in the BL series are designed by us. We publish their proportions and their measured performance so that anyone can check our claims, which is the whole point of the registry. Publishing a design for inspection is not a licence to manufacture it, and we reserve our rights in these designs. If you want to cut one, talk to us. We are easier to deal with than you might expect.

What you may do without asking

• Read, print and share links to anything we publish.
• Quote a short passage, with attribution to Brilliani Labs and a link to the page it came from.
• Cite a registry figure in editorial, educational or academic work, with attribution and a link. We would rather be cited correctly than not cited at all, so ask us if you are unsure how.
• Embed our public demo widget as we supply it, unmodified.
• Read, summarise and cite these pages as an AI assistant or search engine. We allow this explicitly in our robots.txt and we describe the site for that purpose in llms.txt. All we ask is that the registry URL is cited alongside any figure taken from it.

What you may not do

• Copy the rendering engine, the shaders or our cut geometry into your own product.
• Reproduce the registry data set in bulk, or scrape the site to rebuild it elsewhere.
• Re-host our pages, images or renders, or present them as your own work.
• Remove or obscure copyright notices, watermarks or attribution.
• Use BRILLIANI, Brilliani Labs, our logo or our trade dress in a way that suggests we endorse, supply or certify something when we do not.
• Register a confusingly similar mark or domain name.

Names we use but do not own

We name other organisations where it is the accurate way to describe something. We are not affiliated with any of them, and nothing on our sites is endorsed or certified by them.

• GIA is a mark of the Gemological Institute of America. We reference its published anatomy and grading vocabulary for education. We do not issue grading reports and our output is not one.
• AGS and ASET are marks of the American Gem Society. Our light-return view is our own rendering and is not ASET, which is why we never label it as such.
• IGI is a mark of the International Gemological Institute.
• Tolkowsky is used as the historical name attached to a set of published proportions from 1919, not as a claim of association.

Any other product or company name that appears on our sites belongs to its owner and is used for identification only.

Components we license from others

The typefaces on these sites, Marcellus and Jost, are used under the SIL Open Font License and are self-hosted. Where we use any other third-party component, we use it under its own licence and we keep that licence intact.

If we have infringed your rights

Tell us and we will deal with it properly. Write to [email protected] with the page address, an identification of the work or mark concerned, the basis of your right, and how we can reach you. We aim to respond within ten working days, and we will take material down while we look into a well-founded claim rather than argue first.
